Safety Tips for Using an Inspiratory Muscle Training Device (IMT Device):
Check with your doctor before using an IMT device if you have any medical concerns or conditions.
Don’t share your IMT device with others to avoid spreading germs.

The IMT device is for training your breathing muscles, not for diagnosing or treating diseases.
Don’t use the IMT device if it hurts while you’re breathing through it. If it does, stop and see your doctor.
Children under 16 should use the IMT device only with an adult’s supervision. It’s not safe for children under 7 years old.
Some people may feel slight ear discomfort when using the device, especially if they’re recovering from a cold. If the discomfort continues, talk to your doctor.
Don’t use it if you have a cold, sinus issues, or a respiratory infection. Wait until you’re feeling better.
Conditions to Avoid Using an IMT Device:
Asthma: If you have asthma with frequent severe attacks or can’t feel your shortness of breath, it’s best to avoid it.
Ear problems: If you have a ruptured eardrum or other ear issues, don’t use the IMT device.
Heart conditions: If you have heart problems, especially related to high blood pressure or heart failure, check with your doctor before using the IMT device.
If you’ve had a collapsed lung in the past, or other serious lung conditions, talk to your doctor first.
If you’re ever unsure, it’s always a good idea to consult with your healthcare provider before using an IMT device.
